Confetti

Confetti Quartet

Confetti was tossed and a new quartet was born. These fabulous festivities began in October of 2006 and the quartet started working right after the Sweet Adelines International Competition in Las Vegas. They are the current (2007) Region 12 Quartet Champions and have earned the privilege to compete this fall in Calgary at International Competition.

The Quartet enjoys working hard and they all have a fun, sparkling party spirit that they bring to every performance. Here’s a little bit about each of them.

Julie Baxter – Tenor
Julie is a proud member of Mission Valley Chorus in Los Gatos, where she has been singing since 1997. She absolutely loves dark chocolate. Julie lives in Fremont and shares her home with her wonderful partner, Cindy (who also sings in Mission Valley) and three totally adorable cats. Her other interests include Disneyland, Starbucks and, yes, dark chocolate. Julie thoroughly enjoys quarteting and has been in numerous quartets, including, Spritz, Diamonds, Neon Lights, Pure Magic, Street Talk and Mood Swings. Was it mentioned that she can't resist dark chocolate?

Kathy Pecsar – Lead
Kathy has been having a great time with Sweet Adelines since 1994 when she joined the San Francisco Sound Wave Chorus as a baritone. She soon moved and joined the Pacific Empire Chorus, in Petaluma, as a lead. Kathy used to enjoy watching her mother choreograph her father’s barbershop quartet , as well as singing with the rest of the family during get togethers. She has her Bachelor’s degree in music, but has learned much more in Sweet Adelines than in her formal education. Kathy lives in Santa Rosa where her young daughter, Samantha, keeps her and her husband, Jeff, who she adores, on the go. They also share their home with two sweet Bassett Hounds and two pretty kitties. Kathy is grateful to Sweet Adelines for providing an introduction to her husband as her sister in law, Wendy (also of PEC) made the match. Kathy loves quarteting and has wonderful memories with past quartets: En Fuego, Major League, Staccato and Blush. She is excited to make new ones with Confetti.

Trish Sliter – Baritone
Trish is a member of the Harmony Crossroads Chorus, soon to join with Harmony Bay Chorus. The resulting new chorus is expected to be called – Harmony Fusion and they rehearse in Castro Valley. Trish lives in Penn Valley with her one-of-a-kind partner, Barb (Director of Harmony Fusion) and four fabulous furry felines. She commutes to the Bay Area on a fairly regular basis. Trish enjoys quilting, needlepoint, scrapbooking and loves her San Jose Sharks NHL Team. She has one totally cool married daughter, Dawn, who lives in San Diego. Her pride and joy, however, is her wonderful grandson, Connor. Trish has also sung with other quartets in the past, beginning with The Independent Party (Region 14), Classic Edition, Blue Razzberry Rhythm (who were twice 3rd place Sweet Adeline International Medalists) and Spritz. She also spent several years in the comedy quartet, The Aquanettas, as Trixie the Tress Trainer.

Merriann Cree – Bass
Merriann has been in Sweet Adelines since 1963 (but who’s counting) and currently belongs to Sacramento Valley Chorus, as well as holding dual membership in the Pacific Empire Chorus in Petaluma. She and Bill, her caring and understanding husband of 47 years, live in Stockton along with her special doggy – Tina the Weiner! Merriann has two beautiful married daughters, Diane and Karen, however, the special place in her heart is reserved for her awesome grandson, Tyler. In her SAI life, Merriann has sung in quartets she loved: Spritz, Highlight, Capital City Express (1993 regional champions), First Impression, Musical Marmalade, Sunshine Unlimited, Pretenders and her first quartet, Ship Shapes. She has wonderful memories with still more quartets but she can’t remember them!!

Each member of Confetti, considers herself very lucky to be singing with this group of amazing talented, smart, and loving women
